On this outing our first stop will be  the beautifully restored railway station at Carnforth, made famous as the location for filming of ‘Brief Encounter’ The station has an interesting museum relating to both the film and the old steam railway.

We will continue to Leighton Hall, the historic seat of the Gillow family. The Gillow Reynolds family still live in the Hall making it a very much ‘lived in’ home.  Many of the rooms contain unusual pieces of Gillow furniture

On arrival we will have an ‘afternoon tea’ style lunch of assorted sandwiches, scones and cakes in the tea room. We will then begin a private tour of the Hall before it is opened to the general public.

Weather permitting, we will then be able watch the display of birds of prey and visit the gardens.

Cost to include travel, donation to Carnforth Station, admission to Leighton Hall and lunch with tea/coffee and gratuities.
