• At Quarry Bank Mill the lives of a complete industrial community at one of Britain’s greatest industrial heritage sites can be seen. The mill machinery can be heard at work and the domestic lives of the mill owners in Quarry Bank House can be discovered. Styal village and the Apprentice House are worth a visit along with the beautiful restored gardens. SoFA has made a number of donations to Quarry Bank Mill over the years for a number of projects. These include the restoration of the curvilinear glasshouse and the installation of electricity to the garden ticket office.

There are some steep slopes on the estate. Buggies are available from the upper garden and the car park. There is a passenger lift in the mill. Wheelchairs are available and a mobility scooter is available for use in the garden. Wheelchairs and the scooter must be booked in advance.
