As of our first Autumn Speaker meeting in September, SoFA has new venue and meeting day.

New SoFA Venue and Meeting Day at Christ Church

The new venue is Christ Church, 124 Lord St, Southport PR8 1AA, with a new meeting day of the fourth Friday of each month. The times of the Friday speaker meetings will be from 2:00pm until 3:15pm.

Next door to the church is the Café ‘1821’, where you can purchase a light refreshment prior to the speaker meetings from April 2023, if you desire.

Our first meeting was on Friday 23 September 2022 which was by given by Matthew of TigerMuffin soaps from Formby. He gave us an interesting and entertaining talk plus a demonstration of soap making.

New SoFA Venue and Meeting Day Café 1821 t Christ Church

Subject to government confirmation, the National Trust are planning to open houses in England and Wales from 17 May 2021, and in Northern Ireland from 24 May 2021. To help people plan for visiting the houses once they re-open, the National Trust have published a page of advice on their website. That advice includes:

As the restrictions ease, SoFA will also recommence our events. These will include coffee mornings and trips to National Trust properties etc.
