Rufford Old Hall, Lancashire

This year for Winter Rufford Old Hall are doing things a little differently. The grounds, tea-room and second hand book shop are remaining open after Christmas on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Make sure to visit in the New Year to find drifts of snowdrops, winter walks and tasty treats. The house will stay closed to allow for a deep clean, repairs and vital conservation work to take place over this time and will reopen on 14th February.

There is lots to explore around the house, where volunteers are available to supply you with updates. The gardens are worth a good look round when the Hall is open. Head Gardener is David Roberts, came to give SoFA a talk about his 20+ years gardening experiences at Rufford. SoFA have given donations towards replacement gardening equipment, a leaf blower and for new benches in the orchard.
