SoFA Chairman’s Welcome Note

SoFA Chairman’s Welcome Note

Welcome to the SoFA Website

A warm welcome on behalf of the Committee of the Southport and Formby National Trust Association (SoFA).  For over 50 years National Trust members have shared the experience of new friendships and meeting new faces through being members of our Association.

SoFA is part of a national network of independent supporter groups. Each year our members enjoy a programme of talks, lunches, coffee mornings, outings and holidays.  The aim is to add value to National Trust membership at the same time providing practical and financial support to the National Trust.

The money raised from our activities is donated primarily to our local National Trust properties.  We believe a regular pattern and commitment of donations in this way supports our National Trust colleagues and helps with the planning and identification of operational projects and needs.

We liaise regularly with National Trust staff to ensure our members have the latest news.  Staff are invited to our meetings to discuss innovations and renovations thus providing members with an opportunity to provide comment and constructive feedback on any plans.  The warmth and friendliness we enjoy in SoFA and the support we have given to The Trust over the years is only possible because of the enthusiasm of our members.

The programme of outings and details of the next holiday and outings are listed in the latest edition of our members magazine. The write-ups of previous talks, outings and holidays are included in the ‘News’ section. They can also be seen in the ‘Events’ and on the ‘Calendar’ of this website. We meet for our talks in Christ Church on Lord St in Southport.
Non-members are welcome to join us and see what a friendly group we are.

Full details are in our latest membership magazine. If you are interested in joining SoFA please contact us using our Contact Form.

Our website is regularly changed and updated, so make sure you come back frequently to see what’s new.
